In 2005, shoemaker Nora Harald launched the process of crafting an eco-friendly shoe, aiming at Specialist Qualification/ A Master’s degree and her own collection of ecological footwear.
New styles are under designing process and also for men. Appreciation for nature, sustainable deveploment and consumption are the core values behind the collection, it’s materials and production. Thyra Gorm is a new, custom-made shoe brand, handcrafted in our Helsinki workshop. In our Shoeplay-figuration, you can personalize your shoes: select your desired style and combine colors from six different upper leather options.
The upper leathers of Thyra Gorm shoes are naturally beautiful and durable vegetarian tanned leather. Shoe lining is natural neutral-colored vegetarian tanned leather, free from harmful substances, feeling soft and comfortable to wear.
Thyra Gorm shoes are made to last. The leather sole and upper are stitched with wax thread and a full leather heel guarantees a strong structure. The outer sole is rubber and can be replaced with a new one if needed. The Thyra Gorm shoe’s last is a result of a long design process, aiming at perfect fit and comfort for your feet.

Nature’s vision inspires you in colours
Materials
Thyra Gorm collection´s shoes are manufactured using the best and the safest leathers, thinking about nature and sustainable development. Upperleather is full grain vegetarian tanned leather which is strong but flexible enough to adapt to your feet just after using your shoes a few times.
There can be slight differences in tones and colours between hides. Leathers are bought only few times a year to receive a fresh consigment from the leather factory.
Upper leather has been tested and it is free from harmful substances and it is proved to be 100% organic. Shoe lining is also vegetarian tanned and free from harmful substances. It is strong, colourfree, pleasantly neutral leather that feels smooth to wear.
Most shoe components are attached with environmentally friendly water diluted adhesive. Solvent based adhesive is for example used to attach rubber outer sole.
Shoe´s upper and sole are stiched together with strong polyester threads.
